Final Prisoner Trailer

This is the final video of our prisoner trailer. Over the whole task we worked well as a team and think we produced the best video we could achieve. We all had say in what should be in the video and how we would present it and all voices were heard and seen all our opinions and ideas in our trailer. We did have problems when doing the editing as the software we were using kept breaking down and not responding which made us loose time when trying to edit the film, also the sound wasnt working which created problems when we were wanting to insert audio clips and music and trying to edit the clips.
The ideas that we had for the video were all our, we found the best location for the setting of the trailer and that would match the script mood and we tried to portray this with the settings that we used in the trailer. The actors that we used made the mood of the trailer carry on through as they acted well and were responding to the type of setting and atmosphere we wanted to show through to the audience.
The camera movements and angles i think were good throughout we used all the different types and tried to suit the shots and movements with the right scene and speech to make sure they fit together. We could of improved some of the camera angles and the background sound with them, in one of the scenes we see Megan laughing in the corner of the screen by because of the way we shot the scene we couldnt edit it out, so if we had to do it again we need to make sure we cant see anyone laughing or smiling when walking into the sceen or already it in. The music over the top made the trailer fit together it fitted the type of atmosphere and mood we were trying to percieve, we made sure the music was louder at the beginning to make it dramatic and when the actors were speaking make it quieter so the words they were saying could be heard but still having the music in the background. We chose the song by the Foo Fighters are it is very fast pace and basey which portrays the kind of action/horror trailer we were trying to put across.
Overall i think the way we have filmed and then presented our trailer has come across well as we have tried to use the most suitable camera shots, movements and editing to suit the type of trailer we wanted to portray across.

Filming

When shooting the video we found using the camera was easy as we had pratice beforehand using the camera and testing the different camera angles and movements that we used. The location we used was in a garage and in a back alley we thought this setting best fitted the kind of atmosphere and storyline we wanted to portray. Two of us filmed it and directed it- Sarah and Ellie and me and Megan were the actors in the video. When filming we found it hard to get the actors in the correct places to get the coreect shot to film them, also Me and Megan kept laughing which made us have to reshoot the shots over again. There was also background noises when filming outside in the back lane of cars and birds which we didnt want to hear so again we had to keep reshooting again however reshooting didnt help as we couldnt prevent the background noises happening so in some shots some of the noises can still be heard. We dressed the actors up to make them fit more into the kind of sceen and atmosphere we were trying to give off. the lighting was also an issue as we didnt have the right lighting on the right time to show moods and how the characters are meant to come across when watching it eg. creating shadows on faces to show they are "evil".

Storyboarding

this is the script we have to use when filming are narrative video.

Video Of Shots

When doing this video I learnt that there are many different types of shot and are easy to shoot with the camera. Even when I have never really used a camera before it was easy to use and to shoot the shots as they were easy for anyone. We did the shots such as extreme close up and medium closeup. When doing this video we were basically just framing to shoot the different angles and shots, both of us filmed and were in the shots and contributed to where and how we were going to be filmed. When editing i did mainly did the text editing which is including the text tranisitions going from one slide to the next and the colour and motions they were going to do. I found the editing good to do and was the best bit about the whole task as it brang all the work we did together and showed in a professional way. The chanelleges throughout the filming that we did was the wind when setting up the tripod and blowing it over and camera was unsteady so we had to retake until the camera became still, this was still a problem and in the first shot on the video "two shot" the video is still shaking. Also students walking in and out the shot when we were filiming so we had to constantly retake the shot so noone was walking in the background or had any background noise.

Camera Movements

This video is for showing our understanding of camera movement. The task was simple as we had already been introduced to all the different camera movements previously. In the task we planned out what we needed to do for the different camera movements, both of us filmed equally to get some pratice more with the camera and to learn how to film the movements properly. we have difficulties with outside background noises and people walking in and out of the shots (shown in the pan shots) We both edited the video putting different transitions from slide to slide and effects on the images to make it look interesting and to fit the theme of our clips. As we used the software before we found this simple to use.
